Learning his craft as one half of Manna Sounds, alongside fellow Northamptonian Minto, he’s constantly proven he can cross-pollinate and meld sub-genre conventions into something brand new.
No surprise, then, that the duo quickly caught the attention of DJ Sly, leading to a statement-of-intent EP release on his Higher Stakes Recordings. “Until the End” blended elements of liquid, jungle, and classic dancefloor rollers, standing out amongst the label’s predominantly jump-up output and making these guys ones to watch.
As a solo artist, the reputation of Furniss has been steadily growing in prominence ever since. A series of competition wins has established him as a deejay-to-be-reckoned with nationwide. Securing himself a coveted spot as one of Eksman’s Next Hype Allstars, constantly honing his skills, and building his armoury of dubs, he’s just as capable behind the decks as he is in the studio.
And talking of those studio skills, it’s become strikingly evident that Furniss is all about striving towards improvement. He’s already been mentored by Turno as part of the “Your Time is Now” programme, and releases on prestigious labels like Serial Killaz, On Point Audio, and Formation tell their own story. And, it seems, garnering regular support from a roll call of A-listers like DJ Hype, Nicky Blackmarket, Micky Finn, and Bladerunner has served to spur him on to even further.
Now, having linked up with Urban Agency, and with a distinctive brand of dancefloor DnB production at his fingertips, he’s ready to level up. Pay attention. Furniss is about to step into the spotlight.
